Embrace Your Monthly Skin Check Ritual!

Hello everyone!  Your skin is precious, and taking care of it goes beyond beauty—it's essential for your health. Regular skin checks are crucial for spotting any changes early, especially to guard against skin cancer.

 Why Skin Checks?

Early detection is key to managing skin health effectively. Make it your routine to examine your skin thoroughly every month.

 What to Look For
  • Asymmetry: If the two halves of a mole or birthmark do not match, it warrants attention.

  •  Border: Irregular, ragged, or blurred edges could be a sign of trouble.

  • Color: Diverse shades such as brown, black, tan, red, white, or blue within one spot can be suspicious.

  • Diameter: Be wary of spots larger than the size of a pencil eraser (about 6mm).

  • Evolving:Any change in size, shape, color, or elevation, or any new symptom such as bleeding, itching, or crusting.

 Monthly Check Routine:

1. Face & Neck: Check your entire face, ears, under the jaw, and the front and back of your neck.

2. Arms & Hands: Look at all sides of your arms, underarms, palms, and between the fingers.

3. Torso & Back: Use a hand mirror to inspect your back, shoulders, upper arms, chest, and abdomen.

4. Legs & Feet: Don’t forget your lower back, buttocks, legs, the spaces between your toes, and the soles of your feet.

When to See a Doctor:

If you find any suspicious changes during your checks, don’t hesitate to consult with a dermatologist or your healthcare provider immediately.
