If you haven't heard already, June 3, 2023 will be a pretty exciting day here in Marceline.
The town of Marceline, MO has been selected as a destination for fans to share in the celebration of Walt Disney himself and all that inspired him in his hometown! Guests are expected from all over to honor a special hometown, enjoy all of the storytelling and check out the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. Along with a Street Fair filled with activities, food, entertainment, dancing and more, Citizen is dedicating a replica Walt Disney World Main Street U.S.A. clock to the Walt Disney Hometown Museum.
That was a lot of info, right?! Let me break it down for you!
So, we all know that Walt Disney moved to Marceline in the Spring of 1906 ( you didn't know that? what?! ). Well another year you should know is 1923, that's the year Walt Disney moved to California and opened his West Coast studio. That was 100 years ago! And we are part of a year long celebration for the Disney Company's 100 Year Anniversary! The town of Marceline, MO has been selected as a destination for fans to share in the celebration of Walt Disney. This is a really big honor! Marceline held a special place in Walt's heart, and it seems fitting to include us in the Anniversary Celebration!
Guests are expected from all over. Members of D23, the Official Disney Fan Club, have lined up to come visit for the day. These guests purchased tickets in advance, for "A Night at the Disney Family Farm," which is an exclusive ticketed event that evening, but not to worry, you do not need a ticket for the activities going on in Ripley Park!
This will be an all-day event that is open to the public. Along with a Street Fair filled with activities, food, entertainment, dancing and more, Citizen is dedicating a replica Walt Disney World Main Street U.S.A. clock to the Walt Disney Hometown Museum. Let me repeat that: Citizen Watches is gifting a 16 FT Replica of the clock on Main Street U.S.A. in Disney World! This dedication will take place at 4pm in the museum gardens, ( which is also where my Visa cameo took place, wink, wink, heart face ).
